Storm update for April 25, 2009

April 26, 2009

1.12″ of rain fell yesterday (prior to 8:00 AM), with the majority of this amount (approximately 0.85″) falling from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This amount of rain was largely confined to a line from Geneva to O’Hare Airport to Evanston; see the CoCoRaHS map for more details.

This week, 2.67″ of rain has fallen in the reporting period 4/19 through 4/26. This month (4/1-4/25), 3.91″ of rain has been recorded so far, 122% of the normal tally.

More showers and thunderstorms, and a return to 70+ degree weather, are expected today as the cold front which pushed through yesterday lifts back north as a warm front. Read the latest area forecast discussion for more details.
