Significant severe weather outbreak likely Wednesday, May 13, 2009

A relatively dry period will end tomorrow with a probable widespread severe thunderstorm outbreak, particularly in downstate Illinois.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a slight chance of severe weather for the Carol Stream area tomorrow, particularly in the afternoon. A more substantial moderate risk area has been outlined for downstate Illinois, with supercells likely and strong, long-tracked tornadoes possible.
