Dry August; heavy rain possible Sunday, August 16

August 15, 2009

0.68″ has fallen in Carol Stream through the first half of August, well below the 1.82″ average for the time period. With such little rainfall, lawns begin to enter dormancy. Drought may begin to set in if adequate rainfall is not received soon.

Humidity begins to rise today, with showers and thunderstorms possible tomorrow night. Some of the rain will be heavy, with localized flooding possible.
