Unusually dry period to come to an end

August 31, 2010

A light shower of 0.05″ brought an end to 10 days of dry weather during the day yesterday.

Overall, 22 of 31 days in August recorded no rain. However, rainfall on the remaining 9 days totaled 5.23″, which is 0.61″ above the normal amount of 4.62″ for August.

September is expected to get off to a wet start, with locally heavy rainfall possible in the next 2-3 days. This is not expected to cause any flooding problems.
