September precip exactly normal: dry start to October

October 6, 2010

The month of September ended with 3.27″ of precipitation for the month. This amount is exactly the amount of rain an average September is supposed to be, even though 2.29″ of that rain fell in the first four days of September.

The new water year (which started October 1) is off to a dry start, as a blocking pattern has established sunny skies and clear nights for most of the first week of October. No precipitation is expected for the next 5-7 days.

DuPage County has released the Klein Creek Watershed Plan Addendum – this document is available here. A summary of the document will be provided here as soon as practical.
